week 5

research. research. research.

After what I would call a very unsuccessful week I am ready to get back to the grind and get this done this week. My original goal was to shoot the video the week of the 13th but I would much rather be ahead of schedule instead.

I am starting off my week by now researching for another videographer. Jewel was only able to do those two days so I must work with someone new. It always makes me nervous branching out and working with people I do not know because I am afraid they will not understand how I work but I also think that it will be good for me.

I spent Monday morning doing lots of research and reaching out to a few people seeing if they would be interested in working on this project. It could take anywhere from a few minutes to a few days for them to respond so now we wait...

narrowing down music

I spent the majority of the rest of the day listening to music and narrowing it down. There are many factors on what goes into deciding on a song. No only should it be interesting and appealing to the viewer but it should be something not too complex that the dancer can move to with ease.

waiting game.

I contacted about four local videographers yesterday. I heard back from a few and now we are in discussion of logistics, dates, what is expected etc. I am hoping by the end of tomorrow to finalize a videographer and work out a date with them.

More. music.

I am so. indecisive. I am struggling so much to finalize a song! I love all my options and I am not sure how to pick only one. I have decided the best way to pick one is to ask my dance teacher Lisa Powers what her opinion is. She is great with music and will be able to tell what will be best for a dancer.

change of plans.. again

These past two weeks have definitely been the hardest for me. It feels as though my plans are changing every other day. I have a strong feeling that these are the final and definite plans. I heard back from a videographer on Tuesday and he was extremely interested in my project. For the past two days we have been discussing ideas and possible ways we could shoot the video. We came to the conclusion that Thursday is the best day that works for him and it is far enough in advance to be able to find dancers that are available. I was thrilled to finally have somewhat of a solid plan.

The best part.. he sent me an entire playlist of music he has legal rights to. So we don't have to worry about copyright! I am going to spend today listening through this music and finding a new song.

There are a lot of songs on the playlist so my last goal for this week is to pick one.
