I started off my week with some research. There are four main social media platforms : Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Youtube. There are many other social media platforms or apps but these four are the big ones. Most users on these platforms use them for entertainment or personal use. Social media marketing is becoming a growing industry and these big platforms are no longer just for entertainment but for promotion. I did research on how each of these platforms individually can be used for advertising businesses. Scroll through my notes to take a look at my findings! :)
I then began to brainstorm some ideas for the theme of my shoot. I searched pinterest for hours and made a mood board to put all potential ideas in one place. When brainstorming ideas alot has to come into play. You must think of - if this could be a possible theme how could I turn this into a dance shoot? Then you must think potential colors, locations and what else would be needed to make it possible before it even becomes a potential idea. Linked above is a short video of my mood board displaying a couple possible ideas. The board has increased to over 50 pins now, but don't want to give away too much yet!
I ended my week by starting the contact phase. I have not dived too deep into this but I did touch the surface. I created a brief list of some models I have in mind so I reached out to a few models and the photographer to begin coordinating dates. Coordinating one date and time between all the moving parts is extremely difficult and takes a lot of time. The list of people who all must be available includes but is not limited to all the models, hair artist, makeup artist, photographer, and other representatives such as for the company or the magazine.
I did not get too deep into my project this week as it was the first couple days and I was still finishing off with my classes. Being able to briefly dip my toes into it without jumping right into projecting left me excited looking forward to next week.
