We started our Monday off by talking out the next few weeks ahead. With 3 covers in a solid place, we decided that getting them recorded was a good thing to check off our list. We spent Monday making small arrangement adjustments for "Crazy" and "Old Friends" and continued to work through "Mistakes" which was not 100% solid. We ran all 3 songs in succession a few times to work out any problems.
The next night we headed into the studio and worked with our outside mentor Mr. Potts to set up the recording equiptment and get a few takes under our belts. We made good progress and are planning to meet with him again soon. Next time, we will finish the recordings and get a tutorial of how to use the equiptment so we can work indepenently in the future.
With the three covers in the recording stage, we started on our original material during the schooldays. For this piece, the chords and structure were already planned, so we worked on creating a melody that would both fit the theme and lie in a comfortable range for Alana. We also made some good headway on the lyrics.
