what to expect on exam day
The exam is taken during your scheduled final exam period.
You will need a pencil and a photo ID.
Mrs. Albert must proctor the exam according to the rules set forth by ServSafe. The process and rules for test security and testing procedures are similar to what you would experience in other standardized testing environments.
Students have 2 hours to complete the exam, though most are finished in around an hour.
Exam results are mailed back to ServSafe and it usually takes about a week for them to be scanned. (The timing of winter holidays can hold this up a little bit)
The pass score is 75% or higher. If you do not pass the exam Mrs. Albert will talk to you about re-take opportunities. ServSafe has a specific policy on this she must follow. Please remember that each time you take the exam though it costs $38.
Mrs. Albert will receive results and you can email her over winter break if you're dying to know. Otherwise she will share them with you when we return from break.
She will give you a copy of your certificate, but you can also create a login on the ServSafe website and access and print your certificate on your own.
