This course fills the Practical Arts graduation requirement OR will satisfy 2.0 credits of the 6.0 Math credits required for graduation.
AP Computer Science Principles is a survey of important computer science concepts with a focus on their use in society and their relation to current events. Students will use computational tools and data sets to analyze, visualize, and communicate topics. Code.org’s App Lab will be used to design and write programs that will create text and graphics, evaluate expressions, and use variables, conditionals, loops, lists, and functions. Specific topics of focus for the course include creativity, abstraction, data, algorithms, programming, networks, privacy, and innovation.
