2.0 Credits: Full Year High Weighted course; students have the opportunity to earn 6 total credit hours (3 for the fall semester, and 3 for the spring) at Indiana University. Student must earn a C or higher to earn the IU credits.
Prerequisite: A/B average in all previous high school work or social studies teacher recommendation. To earn Indiana University credit, a student must have a 2.7 GPA prior to the start of the semester.

In this college level course, students will investigate the social, political and cultural movements that have shaped American democratic life. The course will follow a chrono-thematic approach, and will make relevant connections to modern issues as each historical era is explored. As a college level course, students will be tasked with developing historical writing skills, and they will produce their original research . Semester one will span from the birth of our country to the turn of the 20th century, and semester two will cover the Progressive era to modern times. Successful completion of ACP U.S. History will earn students college credit through Indiana University.
