2.0 Credits:  Full Year Course

Prerequisite: Algebra Applications with IEP recommendation

This course is NCAA approved.  

This geometry course fills two (2) credits towards the six (6) Math credits required for graduation.  

The basics of geometry vocabulary and symbolism are introduced along with visualization of two-dimensional and three-dimensional figures.  Measurement topics include length, angle measure, perimeter, area and volume.  Students learn the properties of lines, angles, triangles, polygons and circles.  These and the Pythagorean Theorem are used in problem solving and real-world applications.  Both inductive and deductive reasoning are emphasized.
