Prerequisite: AP Calculus BC

This  course fills two (2) credits towards the six (6) Math credits required for graduation.  


Dual Credit with Indiana University: Math M311 - Calculus III. Please refer to the dual credit page of the Course Offering site for additional information regarding the specifics of York’s Dual Credit options. Students interested in earning Indiana University credit for M311-Calculus III will work with their teacher during the first week of class to complete the application process.

One role of this course is to complete the standard university calculus sequence for students who have taken AP Calculus BC. In Calculus III students encounter the elementary geometry of two, three and n-dimensional space; functions of several variables; partial differentiation; optimization in multi- variable situations; and  multiple integration. Vectors are a key tool as students expand what they learned in two dimensions to three or more dimensions. In addition to this standard content, York’s Calculus III course investigates applications from all students’ calculus experience to a variety of areas of human knowledge such as applied engineering, physics, biology, pure mathematics and statistics.
