Calculus II with Applications-ACP: #0387

Prerequisite: AP Calculus AB

This  course fills two (2) credits towards the six (6) Math credits required for graduation.  


Dual Credit with Indiana University: Math M212 - Calculus II. Please refer to the dual credit page of the Course Offering site for additional information regarding the specifics of York’s Dual Credit options. Students interested in earning Indiana University credit for M212-Calculus II will work with their teacher during the first week of class to complete the application process.

This course addresses those calculus topics that are part of the AP Calculus BC curriculum but not that of AP Calculus AB, and also provides work in other areas of mathematics, such as discrete math. Calculus topics are: further integration techniques (by parts, trigonometric substitutions, partial fractions), improper integrals, arc length and surface area, converging and diverging series of numerical constants, Taylor series for function approximations, and parametric curves with their arc length, surface area, and intersections. At the completion of the course, students may elect to take the AP Calculus BC exam. A graphing calculator is required (TI preferred).
