Cooper Henderson is a 2015 graduate. Cooper participated in football and basketball. Cooper was a member of last year's hall of fame class but was unable to attend due to the birth of his first son.
Cooper earned four varsity letters in football, three in basketball, and one in track. However, football is the reason for Cooper’s induction into the Eastern Hancock Athletic Hall of Fame.
It could be argued that Cooper is the most versatile player in Royal football history. Cooper holds the record for the longest run in school history with a 98-yard run versus Cambridge City. He graduated with the single game record for most PAT kicks in a game with 8 versus Knightstown, two single season records, the most PAT kicks and field goals made, and career records for the most points scored, PAT kicks, and field goals made. In addition to these records, Cooper’s name is very prominent in the top five of five single game record statistics, six single season categories, and six career categories. The single season records include the top three seasons in PAT’s made, and additionally in the top four of nine categories for career records, including second in touchdowns and pass receptions and third in rushing touchdowns, receiving yards, and combined rushing and receiving yards.
Cooper was named All Hancock County three times, All Mid-Hoosier Football Conference twice, and Associated Press and Indiana Football Coaches Association All State as a senior. Cooper was a member of sectional championship teams as a junior and senior, and the Semi-State champions as a junior. Cooper was selected to play in the Indiana North-South All-Star game as a senior.
Cooper is currently employed in medical sales. He and his wife have one son.
