Caleb Kennedy

Inducted January 23, 2016

Caleb graduated from Eastern Hancock in 2008.  Caleb earned his recognition tonight in two seasons as a varsity basketball player in which Coach Spaulding refers to him as the most dominant player in his 17 seasons as head coach at Eastern Hancock.  He was a two year starter and the leading scorer and rebounder on the 2008 sectional championship team.  His determined, hard-working style of play resulted in Caleb ranking second in the state of Indiana in rebounding as a senior.  He is Eastern Hancock's all-time leading rebounder, with his senior season being the 2nd highest rebounding total in school history.  Caleb ranks as the #7 all-time scorer in school history, with his 18.7 points/game as a senior being the best scoring average in school history.  Caleb was selected as Hancock County Player of the Year both his junior and senior season.  Following his senior season, Caleb was named the Indianapolis Star All-Metro East Player of the Year, Honorable Mention All-State by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association, was selected to Hoosier Basketball magazine's Top 60 workout, and was a participant in the Hoosier All-Star Classic at the Hoosier Gym. 

Following graduation, Caleb moved on to Huntington University, where he played four years of basketball.  While at Huntington, Caleb graduated as the #22 career leading scorer with 1,494 points.  His senior season at Huntington, Caleb was named first team NAIA Division 2 first team All-American, led the Mid-Central Conference in rebounding, was second in the conference in scoring, and was named conference Player of the Year.  Caleb's senior year of college was capped off by being voted Mid-Central Conference Male Athlete of the Year.  

Caleb now owns Kennedy Dewing Construction with his father and brother-in-law.  He and his wife live in Greenfield.
