Bob Oakes

Bob Oakes was a 1958 graduate of Charlottesville High School.  He earned four varsity letters in baseball, basketball, and track.  Bob was named all-conference in baseball as a junior and senior, and helped lead the team to a conference championship as a senior.  In basketball, Bob was known as an intense competitor who was a four year starter.  He was named all-conference and second team all-sectional in both his junior and senior seasons.  Bob helped lead the Eagles to the 1957 Hancock County Championship and the 1958 Sectional Championship.  Upon graduation, Bob attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio on a baseball scholarship.  Bob served the local farm community for over 30 years as a salesman for Peet's Feeds.  He and his wife Nancy have two daughters and resided in the Eastern Hancock school district their entire lives.
