9th Grade planning
Get involved in extracurricular activities - can help with time management skills and enrich your high school experience!
It's never too early to think about after high school! Attend the EGUSD College and Career Fair on Oct 9th from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
Get to know your counselor, develop a relationship with them early on to ask questions and get info!
Review the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) Minimum A-G Course Requirements. Students must have a grade of C or better in these A-G courses.
10th grade planning
Enroll in college-preparatory/AP courses/ CTE.
Get involved in extracurricular activities and make sure to track them for your resume and college applications
Attend the EGUSD College and Career Fair on Oct 9th from 6:30-8:00 p.m.

Take the ASVAB- for Career Exploration- whether you’re interested in the Military or not.
November 13th and/or March 4th – Sign up in the Career Center

11th grade planning
Make a list of college characteristics that are important to you; i.e. regions of the country; cost; schools that offer particular majors, campus size etc.

Consider taking the ASVAB (a career exploration assessment) to help narrow down career options
November 13th and/or March 4th– Sign up in the Career Center

Stay on top of your grades…This is your final year to increase your GPA before College Applications.
SUMMER
If you are an athlete planning to continue playing a sport at the collegiate level, register with the NCAA Eligibility Center
Visit colleges. Take campus tours and, at colleges you’re serious about, make appointments to have interviews with admissions counselors.
Begin writing your UC Personal Statement or other required College Essays.
12th grade planning
FALL

Senior Conferences with your counselor- checking A-G and graduation requirements
Keep an eye on your senior year timeline to stay informed on important dates

Attend a PIQ Workshop on October 9th @ 9:45 am if you are planning to apply to any UC schools.
Attend University visits in the College and Career Center to meet with representatives and get information.

UC & CSU Applications open on Oct 1st and close Dec 2nd. Attend application workshops in the Career Center for support.
Apply to the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship - opening November 25th
SPRING
Send mid-year transcripts if requested by colleges
Attend community college application workshops opening up in February
Complete the FAFSA or CADAA if you have not already submitted your application. Priority deadline is April 1st, 2025.
Keep track of all your offers and financial aid awards - use the University Application Organizer!
Make your final school decision by the deadline set by your school!
Plan for registration, orientation and housing.
Attend Graduation on May 28th, 2025 at the G1 Center, 3:00 p.m.
SUMMER
Submit your OFFICIAL transcript(s) to your University. If you took DE classes you must submit an official transcript from your community college!
