Career Center Events

Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society (SSVMS) has opened a few of their program applications: 1) Future of Medicine Summer Program, and 2) Spring Break White Coat Week. These programs provide high school students with the experience of shadowing a medical professional in locations throughout greater Sacramento. There is also the Virtual Program for those unable to attend in-person.

white coat week

Shadow a physician over spring break. Open to high school sophomores, juniors and seniors, and college students.

Week I

March 17 - March 20, 2025

Week II

April 14 - April 17, 2025

Application deadline is January 18, 2025.

summer program

Shadow medical professionals in the clinics and hospital settings. Open to incoming high school juniors and seniors.

Session I

June 9 - June 27, 2025

Session II*

June 23 - July 18, 2025

*no shadowing week of July 4th.

Application deadline is March 1, 2025.

Learn about the medical field and career options from local healthcare professionals. Open to incoming high school juniors and seniors.
