Have a Ball!

On this page, we're going to have activities that use a ball either for ball play or other fitness goals. If you don't have a ball, don't worry! Use a stuffed animal, rolled up sweatshirt, folded towel, a pair of socks, or even crumpled paper (for a ball toss).

Half-kneel Ball/Sock Toss

Challenge your balance by standing or kneeling (in 1/2 kneel) on a cushion while trying to throw balls (or socks or bean bags) into a basket. Make it harder by moving the basket further away. Thank you Chanda at Pink Oatmeal for the video!

Ball Shuffle and Tap

Again, if you don't have balls around, stuffed animals would work great for this one. Thank you Chanda at Pink Oatmeal for another great video!

Supine Ball Pass

Ok, this one is a GREAT ab work out. Parents, I challenge you to try it too! If you don't have a ball handy, a stuffed animal will work out great. Thank you Chanda at Pink Oatmeal for getting us through!

Figure 8 Ball Pass

This is a work out for your hands and your brain! If you don't have a ball, try a stuffed animal. Thank you to Chanda at Pink Oatmeal for sharing this video.

Cushion Ball Toss

If throwing a ball back and forth is too easy, have your child stand on a couch cushion or pillow to make it more of a challenge. Don't have a ball? Use stuffed animals! Thanks again to Chanda at Pink Oatmeal for her great videos.
