This week we have had Money Week. Our Maths work has been all about money. We have thought about the values of coins; adding up money and giving change. It would be really helpful if children could 'play' with money at home as we've noticed that some children's experiences with money are very limited! We loved taking part in our Money Week workshops with NatWest bank volunteers and will update the slides with pictures from this soon, below.
We've recapped colour mixing in class today, thinking about how to make secondary and tertiary colours.
We loved celebrating World Book Day by dressing up this week! On the day, we took part in lots of activities including a parade, sharing a story around the school, creating competition entries for National Book Tokens and learning and performing a poem during a whole school assembly. We had a great day!
This half term, we have started to learn about branching databases. We found these tricky when making them on paper, but this week we've made them using an online app. Things became much clearer. Some examples are below:
Both classes got involved with a Red Nose Day dance that was shared with us Live by Deanes school. There were over 50 primary school classes taking part at the same time from the local area which was awesome!
Look at these lovely creations. What a clever lot you are!
Our lovely PA Easter Egg Hunt took place today! The children loved running around looking for clues!
We loved our Sealife visit! As well as visiting the Sealife Centre, we carried out a bin/ rubbish survey of the beach. There were so many bins... but also a lot of rubbish!
