Personal Project Product: 6 minute documentary spanning Autumn 2019 through Spring 2020
Overview:
My goal for this personal project was to develop my football skills and find a way of sharing that journey in an interesting way, then looking back at my journey and hopefully learn something from what I did.
My Personal Project was split into 3 phases. During the 1st phase, I planned out my project and took some tests which would come in use later. The second phase was the most enjoyable, as I trained and played football regularly, kept up with my progress journal (remember to do that, it will definitely help you later on) and recorded some of my games. The third and final phase was when I needed to do the most work. I took the same tests in Spring 2020 as I had taken in Autumn 2019, so I could compare the results. I spent countless hours on teaching myself how to edit video, and even more hours on actually creating the product. After finishing the product, I wrote the report and finished my progress journal. I've never felt happier to submit something on Google Classroom before.
For Future 9th Graders:
The journey itself was a lot of work, and documenting it was equally time-consuming. I chose this type of project because I was motivated to do it, I stayed committed and the work was engaging to me. Make sure you choose to do your personal project on something that highly motivates you. Being able to choose to do the project on anything you want is your biggest advantage, because you'll be able to enjoy working on it.
