Meet the Year 4 Teachers!
4A - Ms Lissmyr
Hi everyone, my name is Helene Lissmyr and I have the pleasure to be the PLC Learning specialist for the year 4 cohort this year. That means I will be working closely with teachers, students and families.Â
Additionally, I will be teaching 4A part-time alongside Mr Fikri. I will teach Monday - Wed mid-morning.Â
I have been a teacher for 17 years and a learning specialist for 2 years, and I love what I do!Â
Outside of school, I love spending time with my family and friends, spend time in nature (hiking and kayaking), going to the gym, reading and travelling.Â
I look forward to getting to know many of you throughout the year!Â
4A - Mr Fikri
Hi everyone, my name is Mr Fikri and I am very excited to be one of your teachers this year and sharing the role with Ms Lissmyr. This is my 19th year of teaching and I'm looking forward to teaching you lots of exciting new activities. I will be teaching you from Wednesday afternoon to Friday.
Outside of school, I love to spend time with my family, which include travelling to all different places. I also have two very cheeky dogs named Diesel and Marky (which I will no doubt share stories about). I have been to many different countries and love to try different foods and see different landmarks. I also love AFL and follow the Carlton Football Club.Â
4B - Mrs Shabo
Hello! My name is Mrs Shabo and I am so thrilled to be teaching 4B this year. It’s going to be a year full of learning, new friends, adventures and discoveries.Â
I have been teaching at Aitken Creek Primary School for nine years now. I have taught Prep to Grade Six as a CRT teacher in 2017. Grade Three in 2018, 2019 and 2020. Grade 4 in 2021 and 2022. In 2023, I took time of work because I had a beautiful baby boy named Lucian. I returned back to work halfway through 2024 as a part-time Grade 2 teacher. This year I am excited to be teaching Grade 4 again along with Mrs Michael!
4B - Mrs Daniil
Hello, my name is Mrs Daniil. Some of you may previously know me as Miss Michael, as I got married last year. I am excited to be one of the year 4 teachers this year, along side Mrs Shabo in 4B. You will find me in the classroom Wednesday to Friday. On Mondays and Tuesdays I lead 3-6 Literacy, as the upper school Literacy Learning Specialist.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going on day trips with my husband, heading out to eat our favourite foods, catching up on my favourite shows and movies, and playing with/walking my 3 energetic Jack Russels.Â
I look forward to getting to know you all this year!
4C - Miss Parswal
Hello! I’m Ms. Parswal, and I’m beyond excited to be leading the incredible learners of 4C this year. As a first-year teacher, I’m diving headfirst into this journey, and I can already tell it’s going to be an unforgettable experience. Every day in our classroom is a new adventure—filled with curiosity, laughter, and those amazing "aha!" moments that make learning so special.
Outside the classroom, I’m an explorer at heart. Whether it’s traveling to new places or discovering hidden food gems, I love immersing myself in different cultures through their flavors and stories. If there’s a dish I haven’t tried yet, you can bet it’s on my list!
I can’t wait to see what this year holds for us in 4C. From big ideas to small victories, we’ll be celebrating it all together. Here’s to a year of learning, growing, and maybe even a few surprise food recommendations along the way!
4D - Miss Barron
Hi everyone, I’m Miss Barron, and I’m so excited to be teaching 4D this year! This is my fourth year of teaching, and it’s my first time staying in the same year level, as I also taught Grade 4 last year. I feel incredibly lucky to be teaching some familiar faces again, as I had the pleasure of teaching this cohort back in Grade 1 and 2.
Outside of school, I love reading, traveling, doing crafty projects, and going for walks. I’m also a big fan of Disney movies, and my goal is to visit all the Disney parks around the world—so far, I’ve been to four! Fun fact: while I do have a phobia of dogs, I’m slowly working on overcoming it.
I’m looking forward to a fantastic year full of learning, creativity, and fun with the Year 4s!
4E - Mr Kappos
Hi, I'm Mr Kappos! This is my second year teaching year 4 and my second year at Aitken Creek, and I'm very keen to have a fun year this year full of joy, learning and growing.Â
When I'm not at school teaching, I love playing basketball, watching the footy with my friends and family, and reading new books. One thing I love to do when I have the chance is to travel, which I recently did in Thailand and had a blast. My goal is to travel as much as possible and hopefully one day learn a new language.
Can't wait to have an amazing year in 2025 with these amazing year 4's!
4F - Miss Lang
Â
Hi, I’m Miss Lang, and I’m so excited to be teaching 4F this year! This is my first year as a teacher, and I can’t wait to dive into all the fun and learning ahead. Outside of school, I’m a huge fan of live events—whether it’s enjoying a theatre performance, rocking out at a concert, or watching a sports game. Traveling is another passion of mine, whether I’m exploring new destinations overseas or discovering hidden gems around Australia.Â
I’m really looking forward to a fantastic year with grade 4’s!
