Learning to Learn!
During the first three weeks of school, our Year 4 students have been settling into their new classrooms, building connections, and getting to know their teachers for 2024. Teachers have dedicated time to fostering strong relationships with students to create a supportive and engaging learning environment. Together, we have been unpacking our school values and working towards shared classroom goals. It has been wonderful to see friendships grow and a strong sense of community take shape as we embark on an exciting year of learning!
Establishing classroom and learning expectations has been a key focus during the first few weeks. Students have actively participated in developing learning routines and exploring how different curriculum areas are structured during lessons. As a result, they now have a strong understanding of daily expectations and routines, setting the foundation for a successful year of learning.
Teachers and students have been working together to create engaging and supportive learning spaces tailored to student needs. With a strong focus on student voice, these spaces have been thoughtfully designed to enhance learning. Visual supports, set up with teacher guidance, help identify different learning areas within the classroom. Students have embraced this process enthusiastically and have settled in beautifully, making a great start to the year.
