Visual Arts at Wattle Park Primary School
At Wattle Park Primary School, our vibrant Visual Arts program inspires creativity, curiosity and confidence in every student. Aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, our engaging program provides opportunities for students to explore a wide range of art forms, including drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, textiles, ceramics and sculpture. Learning experiences are designed to be flexible, allowing students to develop their artistic skills while nurturing their individual interests and creative ideas.
Students work independently and collaboratively, developing their ability to communicate ideas, solve problems creatively and reflect on their own artistic journey. Through the study of local, Australian and internationally renowned artists, students gain an appreciation of diverse artistic styles, cultures and creative practices. Open-ended projects encourage students to experiment, take creative risks and express themselves with confidence.
Our dedicated Visual Arts room is a welcoming, well-equipped learning environment where students have access to a broad range of quality materials and techniques. It is a place where imagination flourishes, artistic skills are developed and every child's creativity is celebrated.
Student artwork is proudly displayed throughout the school, creating a vibrant environment that reflects the creativity and achievements of our learners. Every second year, alternating with our school production, Wattle Park Primary School proudly hosts a spectacular Art Show. This much-anticipated community event transforms the school into a gallery, showcasing the outstanding artwork created by students across all year levels and celebrating the incredible talent, creativity and artistic growth of every child.
