Year Foundation
Foundation students will be introduced to Numbers and the Dragon Boat Festival. They will learn numbers 0–10 in Chinese, practise pronunciation and recognise Chinese characters. They will also explore traditions such as dragon boat racing and eating Zongzi.
Year 1/2
In this term, Year 1 & 2 students will discover the world of Australian animals while practicing their Chinese language skills. Through engaging activities, students will develop vocabulary related to animals and habitats, as well as strengthen their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in Chinese.
Year 3/4
Year 3 and 4 students will delve into the world of the four seasons in Chinese. In this unit, students will develop their four language skills, learning to identify and name the four seasons in Chinese. The topic of 'Four Seasons' will also introduce basic vocabulary and phrases related to activities, weather, and cultural events associated with each season.
Year 5/6
The main learning focus for Year 5 and 6 students is Peking Opera. Students will learn about the cultural significance of Chinese Opera in Chinese history and society, practice Chinese language skills through reading, writing, and speaking activities, and create their own Chinese Opera inspired masks.
