Years 7 to 10 dance
Students will complete a warm up with the Mark Morris Dance Company and learn the repertoire from choreographer Lexy Panetta.
You will:
identify and perform a warm-up and cool-down
control non-locomotor and locmotor combinations when performing extended sequences
use appropriate dance terminology when describing dance technique and safe dance practice
apply the elements of space, time and dynamics to personalise dance movement
think critically and reflectively as you video your own and others' dance performance and compositions
Before you begin you will need:
a clear space to dance safely
a device to listen to the music and watch the performance
pen, paper and post-it notes
access to software such as Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Slides to record your answers.
Watch the excerpt of each of the technique exercises and follow the instructions provided by the teachers to demonstrate each exercise.
Make sure to perform them in order to safely prepare your body for dance.
