Get organised

Your teacher will help you form a project group of 3-4 students.

  • You will use your digital portfolio to record your work

  • Complete the following activities to get organised

Activity - Set up a shared online work space

Set up a shared folder for example on Google Drive or Office 365 for your group's ideas. One group member should have a responsibility to create the folder and then share it with the other students and your teacher. Your teacher might set up a Google Classroom for you to stay on track.

Store all the documents and other files for your project in the shared folder. All group members can view and contribute to the content (like images, audio and video) anytime, anywhere. Be sure to keep a note of the information sources.

What is next? Now create a shared online work space to store and organise your group’s work.

Activity - Create discussion guidelines for your group to make conversations respect and useful

To make conversations fair, respectful and useful, it’s good to develop some guidelines around how you talk and listen to each other.

Brainstorming ideas, making group decisions, and resolving differences of opinion can be hard. Agree on rules now to help.

What is next? Now create a shared document in your collaborative work space and record your group’s guidelines for collaborative conversations. Use the suggestions above and add your own ideas.

Activity - Establish a tasks and responsibilities chart

Everybody must have at least one job and will probably take on several. Sometimes a role can be shared. Roles may change and new jobs will arise, for example, after the group decides on how to present their topic.

Flip through the cards below for ideas of roles and responsibilities.

Successful group work happens when everyone contributes.

What is next? Now complete the roles and responsibilities chart in your digital portfolio.
