A time management plan is a detailed schedule that breaks a larger project down in to smaller parts. When the project has been broken in to smaller parts, a completion date is assigned to each part so that you can monitor whether or not your project is on schedule. In Year 9 Metal, you will be producing a very basic for of Time Management Plan in the form of a table. As you progress through projects in Metals, you will produce Time Management Plans in the form of a GANTT Chart, which is a more widely used form of Time Management Tool.
Every project has time limitations. The toolbox project is due at the end of Term 1, which means that you have a limited number of lessons to complete your project. You have 7 Metals lesson per fortnight, and roughly 5 fortnights per Term. 7 x 5 = 35 lessons.
Keep in mind that there will be disruptions through the Term due to school carnivals and other whole school events, which will reduce your time in the classroom. You must also consider that not every lesson will be a practical lesson, and you will require classroom time to complete your work report and other work.
Below you will find your teachers proposal for the time management plan.
