Subject Description
The aim of the Industrial Technology Years 7–10 Syllabus is to develop knowledge, understanding, skills and values related to a range of technologies through safe interaction with tools, materials and processes in the design, planning, management and production of quality projects. Students are required to develop an understanding of the interrelationships between technology, the individual, society and the environment, and to develop their ability to think creatively to produce solutions to practical problems.
The Multimedia focus area provides opportunities for students to develop knowledge, understanding and skills in relation to multimedia and associated industries such as film, animation, graphics, publishing, interactive media and computer game design.
Areas of Study
Core Module: Multimedia includes common content and topic content that develops knowledge and skills in the use of tools, materials and techniques related to Web Design and Video Production.
Specialist Module: Multimedia enhances and further develops knowledge and skill in the use of tools, materials and techniques related to Apps and Interactivity, and Games and Simulations.
Practical Projects may include:
2D and 3D animations
augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) products
computer games
ePublications
individual photographic images and graphics (for print and/or digital display)
videos
website and apps.
