Literacy and Numeracy Week 2025: Success at Kogarah High
Kogarah High School’s Literacy and Numeracy Week was a resounding success, transforming the library into a lively hub of learning, creativity, and fun.
The highlight of the week was the Kahoot! Grand Final on Friday 12 September. Congratulations to Mohammed Ghacham (Year 10), who secured first place, Steve Bat-Erdene (Year 8) in second, and Evan Kohilas (Year 8) in third. Their achievements capped off a week of spirited competition across all year groups.
Students also enjoyed a range of activities, including the Numeracy Treasure Hunt, which challenged problem-solving through Dewey codes, the Guess the Shelfie competition linking teachers to their bookshelves, and the Mastermind Finals, which rewarded quick recall and deep knowledge. Every student took home a Literacy Pack courtesy of the English Department, and all participants selected a book of their choice as a prize.
The week highlighted Kogarah High’s strong commitment to building literacy and numeracy skills in engaging ways, while fostering school spirit, collaboration, and a love of learning.
