Students recently embarked on an exciting outdoor recreation excursion at Kamay Botany Bay National Park, where they put their orienteering skills to the test. Equipped with compasses and maps, students worked collaboratively in groups to navigate designated tracks and natural landmarks.Â
Their journey included locating key monuments and historic sites, such as the Captain Cook Landing Site, providing both an educational and adventurous experience. This hands-on activity encouraged teamwork and problem-solving as students carefully planned their routes and supported one another throughout the challenge.
As they hiked along scenic bushland and coastal trails, students had the opportunity to observe the unique flora and fauna native to the area, fostering a deeper appreciation for the environment. The excursion not only enhanced their outdoor navigation abilities but also promoted environmental awareness and physical endurance. This engaging experience was designed to help students build confidence in their skills while connecting with nature and learning about the rich history of Kamay Botany Bay National Park.
