Trio Sonata Op. 3 No. 2 is a trio sonata composed by Arcangelo Corelli in 1689. Baroque trio sonatas are works composed for two melodic instruments and a basso continuo part. While he was alive, Corelli published four sets of 12 trio sonatas. Trio Sonata Op. 3 No. 2 is from his third set.
Trio Sonata Op. 3 No. 2 has four movements which are arranged in a slow-fast-slow-fast order. The fourth of these movements, marked ‘Allegro’, is in 6/8 and has a gigue-like character.
