In order to find out how much plastic you use in your kitchen you will need to run a 'kitchen plastic audit'.
This is quite easy to do. Next time your family goes shopping see if you can audit the shopping as it gets put away in the cupboard and the fridge. Record anything that is in a plastic container - there is likely to be hard and soft plastic to record.
Fill out the data sheet below to record all the plastic items you can find in your kitchen.
Have a look at your list and think about which items on that list you could swap for a non-plastic option.
Some options to think about are:
purchase products in cardboard containers instead of plastic
bake your own bread and cakes / biscuits
shop at a bulk food store
grow your own food
