This course will provide opportunities for students to:
• Recognise the links between education, training, work and the economic and social factors that affect work opportunities
• Undertake extended work placement to allow for the development of specific industry related skills
• Actively engage in enterprise learning through participation in a community based project
• Acquire general work related knowledge, skills and attitudes, transferable to the world of work
• Develop skills in accessing work- related information, presenting themselves to potential employers and functioning effectively in the workplace.
• Develop a CV and portfolio with accumulated, demonstrated experiences to assist in seeking employment in the construction industry.
• Develop an understanding of planning and organising work, resources, sequencing and scheduling and resolving problems with the workplace and clients.

Experiences and Work in the Construction Industry
Students must have appropriate working clothes, including steel-capped work boots. Additional PPE will be supplied when necessary.
