The Year 11 Course is designed to provide students with opportunities to investigate individuals, groups, events, institutions, societies and ideas in a range of historical contexts as a background for their more specialised HSC studies.
The Year 12 Course is designed for students to investigate national and international forces for change and continuity in the twentieth century through 3 major studies.

Part I: Investigating Modern History - 50% – Nature of Modern History
- 2 case studies
Part II: Historical Investigation - 20%
Part III: Core Study – The shaping of the Modern World - 30%
Year 12 Course
Part I: Core Study – 25% - Power and Authority in the modern world
Part II: National Study - 25%
Part III: Peace and Conflict - 25%
Part IV: Change in the modern World - 25%
External Assessment
A three hour written examination.
