Indigenous careers Programs @GPHS

GPHS students with indigenous heritage can access additional careers focussed programs that support them to achieve their educational goals and improve their post-school options.

WSU's Pathways To Dreaming program engages Y8 - Y12 Indigenous students in the opportunities that await them in higher education. Mentored by current WSU students and alumni of the university, high school students are supported and encouraged to achieve their educational aspirations. Students take part in academic and cultural enrichment workshops at the university, while in-school programs are devised, implemented, and facilitated by university staff and mentors. Students can also access significant scholarship opportunities through the Pathways to Dreaming program. If you would like to learn more about this program please click on the WSU logo. If you would like to discuss this program further please call the school to speak with our careers adviser.

The NRL School To Work program is an education and employment program that has been supporting Indigenous youths since 2012. The NRL utilises the positive profile of the game of Rugby League to support young Indigenous Australians with work experience, mentoring and leadership opportunities to ensure they successfully complete school and transition into further study, training or meaningful employment.
