Full-Time Apprenticeships & Traineeships
For students interested in finding a full-time apprenticeship or traineeship, there are many options provided they are truly motivated to work. Using the school's work experience program is not only a great way to build skills and get experience...it's also the best way for students to demonstrate their potential value as an employee. Many past GPHS students have been successful at gaining a full-time apprenticeship/traineeship after performing well on a work experience placement. Group Training Organisations (GTO)
Group Training is a training and employment arrangement where a GTO employs apprentices and trainees under an Apprenticeship/Traineeship Training Contract and places them with host employers. A GTO assumes the employer responsibilities for the quality and continuity of the apprentice or trainee's employment and training. The GTO also manages the additional care and support necessary to achieve the successful completion of the training contract.
Some GTOs service a variety of industries, while others specialise in particular industries. Below are just some of the GTOs that place workers with employers in Western Sydney. It doesn't cost anything to sign up, and they will contact you when they have a position that you might be suitable for. Many of them also provide a weekly or monthly job availability list.
