Mathematics Core B is our base level of Mathematics and been designed for those students who possess a lower level of Mathematical intuition and ability. It follows the Stage 4 and Core aspects of the Stage 5 pathway. See NSW Curriculum Website for more details.
The nature and format of this level enables students to learn the basic mathematical principles required for everyday life, various trade pathways and for the study of the Mathematics Standard course in Year 11. This Year 11 course will diverge into the Standard 1 course in Year 12.
The ability to develop connections between Mathematics and its real-world applications.
Topics Studied are: Financial Mathematics, Algebraic Techniques, Indices, Equations, Linear relationships, Trigonometry, Area, Surface Area, Volume, Data analysis and Probability.

The Core content B pathway is an appropriate path for students aiming to attain Apprenticeships or continue their study of Mathematics through the Mathematics Standard Course in Year 11 and moving to the Standard 1 pathway in Year 12.
