This course provides opportunities for students to increase their employability skills in various hospitality settings, such as restaurants, catering operations, cafes fast food chains and coffee shops for casual and/or part time employment whilst still at school. It will allow students to:
Enhance practical skills in food preparation and presentation
Prepare and serve café type foods including hot and cold beverages and expresso coffee using a variety of tools and equipment
Maintain safety and cleanliness in a Hospitality setting
Improve waiter/waitressing skills
Topics covered in the 100 Hour course:
Work effectively
Clean premises and equipment
Use food preparation equipment
Prepare and present simple dishes including sandwiches
Prepare hot and cold beverages
Use hygienic practice for hospitality service
Clean kitchen premises and equipment
This course will appear on the ROSA as Food Technology.
