Principal's Welcome 

Welcome Parents and Caregivers to Blacktown South Public School. I would especially like to welcome all our new 2024 Kindergarten boys and girls. 

Blacktown South Public School is a large public school with approximately 1040 students. In 2024, I anticipate that there will be 40 classes across the school including six Kindergarten classes.

Our school also has two Opportunity Classes (OC), one Year 5 and one Year 6.  These classes are for academically talented students.

The students at our school come from many different cultural backgrounds, with approximately 90% coming from a non-English speaking background.  Our students and their families come from over 50 different countries and cultural groups.  We take great pride in our cultural diversity and celebrate it particularly through our Harmony Day Celebrations each year.

We pride ourselves at Blacktown South Public School in the academic programs provided, the range of extra-curricular activities such as dance, recorder, choirs, chess, public speaking and debating.  Interschool summer and winter sporting competitions (PSSA) is highly valued by many of our Year 3-6 students.

Over the last eight years the school has extensively invested in technology, with classrooms equipped with an Interactive Teaching panel, and all classrooms having a range of either iPads, notebooks or desktop computers.  

My Deputy Principals, Mrs Kathy Price, Mrs Sathiya Segaram and myself make up the Senior Executive Team.  With your class teacher and the Kindergarten Relieving Assistant Principal Miss Stephanie Thomas, we are here to support and help all our new students and families successfully transition to school.
