Elle Davies

Hey, I’m Elle Davies. I joined the newspaper because I really enjoy consuming all kinds of media. Any type of art fascinates me. Whether that's films, paintings, music, photos, the ballet, theatre productions or any type of human created art. That is why I thought the culture department would be absolutely perfect! I have also been described as ‘bossy’ literally my whole life so I imagine that being the head of the department is probably a good idea for me. I have always wanted to be a teacher. My idea changed from a primary school teacher to a secondary one and now I would like to lecture about English literature at a university!

Hello, my name is Delilah Brady. I write for the culture section of the newspaper as well as other talented writers, my main interests are Art which I do a lot in my spare time and I'm really into a lot of films, TV shows and books! I joined the Knox news because I'd really like to work and improve on my journalistic writing instead of writing my opinions and fiction. I aspire to do something creative and travel around the world!!

Lilly Darling

Hey! I’m Lilly and a senior member of the Culture department. I am very interested in film, TV, music, books and especially musical theatre. I decided to join the newspaper, specifically the culture department since I love all things culture/media related and when I found out that I had the opportunity to be able to write about what I am so passionate about, I jumped right to it! I am aspiring to pursue a musical theatre career when I am older so when I heard about the theatre side of the culture department, I was very excited to be able to write about that specifically and I hope to give you some articles to do with theatre and more!

Izzy Corrin

Hello. My name is Izzy, I’m a senior member of the Culture Department. I have a fascination with Art, Drama, literature and all things creative. I joined the newspaper Culture Department because I loved the idea of inspiring and informing people about the Arts. I’m hoping to be an Architect or an Engineer but some part of me still wants to act in a theatre or make art for a living. I’m very excited to hopefully publish some articles that captivate your interest in those subjects the way they have captivated me.

Hello! My name is Aubin Motion! I work in the culture department of the newspaper! I wanted to join the club because I enjoy writing and have always wanted to write for some sort of newspaper. There are many things I would like to do in the future. I am quite focussed on expanding my music knowledge and learning to play new instruments. I spend a lot of time writing short fiction stories and playing darts!

Ellie McKenzie

Hello, I’m Ellie, a writer for the Culture section of the paper. As someone who has always had a love for both reading and writing books, the Knox newspaper is an amazing opportunity to explore my interests alongside others with the same motivation! Everyone on the team works really well together, and we’ve formed a welcoming, supportive community. In the future, I would love to study at Edinburgh University, then go on to work in the performing arts, or become an interior designer in the South of France. 

Issy McGonigle

Hello! I’m Isobel McGonigle, but most people call me ‘Issy’, and I work in the Culture Department of the paper. I honestly was quite unsure of joining the news club, I wasn’t exactly into writing that much, but I’ve always been pretty interested in newspapers! I thought that joining the club would be a great opportunity for me to step outside my comfort zone and could possibly open a few more doors for me in the future. For my future, I’m still pretty hesitant on setting a straight course for a job, so for now I’d like to try out a few options!

I enjoy reading, watching movies and listening to music, and when I’m older I would like to study either Psychology or Journalism at University. Lucy Stott

Hey! I’m Lucy (S5), I work as the manager of the Beat Department. I was inspired to join the Knox newspaper due to my lifelong love reading and writing. I have always been interested in writing stories and articles discussing relevant real world issues. Additionally, I also enjoy both drawing and baking! I joined the newspaper team to get some applicable experience writing for a published work. In the future, I would love to study history and sociology in uni. It is an honour to write for such a wonderful project and I am very excited for the future!

My name is Neve Hunter. My department is Beat. My interests are music and history, I  especially enjoy delving into local history. My reason for joining the newspaper is that I think it will help improve my writing skills and my communications outside my yeargroup. Aspirations I have for the future is that I would like to pursue a career as a orchestra conductor, so i think being in the newspaper would help the people side of things if i was to become a conductor.

Hey! I’m Ugne, a senior member of the Beat Department. What inspired me to join the newspaper was my dedication to sharing people's voices and making sure that they are heard. That’s why I specifically joined the Beat Department, as I can express my own and others' opinions on certain topics ranging from science to politics. Furthermore, I can inform people about what's happening around them. In the future, I would like to go to university to study economics and politics.

Hey, I’m Scott Morrison and I’m the head of the photography department. I was inspired to join the newspaper club because I wanted to try and use my photography skill for something other than as a hobby or for school and because it would make me change my style of photography. I enjoy using my photography skills for anything I can as well as crocheting and in the future I hope to study Electronic and Electrical engineering at university and to hopefully be a photographer for the newspaper at the uni I go to.

Hello! I am Fia, a junior photographer. I decided to join the news club because I have a genuine love for the library and the books within (especially the hunger games series). I am also wanting to contribute to something that could be very beneficial for me later in life. In the future I would like to go to university to get a degree in zoology and go on to work at the zoo or help conserve big cats in Africa and Asia.

Hi, my name is Lottie, I’m a junior photographer, and I love photography. I got my first camera when I was ten and have been obsessed ever since. I love taking photos of many things, like nature and light, but my favourite thing is to take photos of my friends because it’s a great way to keep the memories forever.I don’t know what I'm going to do in the future yet, but I know I want to go to university because I think that university is a great way to set you up for future employment.

Hi! I’m Cat, I work as the head of the cartoonist department! I have an interest in drawing as well as telling stories. I wanted to join to help produce cartoons for the newspaper and inspire people who may read them. I am also influenced by other peoples stories and want to tell some as well. I enjoy games such as Fallout, Pokemon and Professor Layton and hope to achieve the same level of impact with my stories as they have impacted me.

Hi I'm Charley, I've always adored art as well as literature. I joined the newspaper because I would like to publish and illustrate my own work eventually. I love to read, my favourite books include Anne of green gables, warrior boy, how to train your dragon and various mangas. I'm greatly influenced by my older sister Rachel who is an amazing realism artist.

Hey, I’m Corin and I’m one of the cartoonists that will be working on the comic strip for the newspaper. I’m super interested in all things art, books, and movies (especially horror movies), and I wanted to join the newspaper to get some experience making art with other people in a slightly more professional setting. Art is my passion and I hope to study it in college or university once I leave school, and I’ve even considered writing my own graphic novel at some point in the future.

Hi everyone, my name is Lexi and I am a cartoonist for Knox News. I joined Knox News as my friend convinced me that it would be fun and had a role for artists. In the future I aspire to be either a character designer or animator, and I believe that joining Knox News as a cartoonist can help me reach that goal.

Millie Macintyre

Hi, I am Millie Macintyre, my part in Knox News is cartoon art. What interests me in joining is my hobby of drawing characters from two different shows I like, Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. An interesting fact about me is that I really like Yungblud, he is my absolute favourite artist. I really like his songs The Boy in the Black Dress and The Freak Show. The reason I chose to be part of cartoon art at Knox News is because I wanted to practice my talent for future reasons and meet new people. In the future I want to be a cartoon artist and make new characters, I also make my own characters at home and im really exited to be part of the cartoon art department.
