What the Service Does: The Access Officer, who is currently a registered Occupational Therapist, provides assessment, support and advice on the adaptions required to allow children and young people to access the school environment and participate in their curriculum (e.g. specialist seating, toilet adaptions, aids). The aim is to improve accessibility, progress, and participation by reducing environmental barriers that limit pupil participation within schools.
Age Range: From age 3 - school leaving age
