Our Process of understanding the PYP Exhibition

Step 1 - Checking prior knowledge

If I had to explain the PYP Exhibition to a friend I would say...

Since two students were new to the school and to the PYP Exhibition process, we put down our thoughts to explain to them what the PYP Exhibition was all about based on the prior knowledge we had.

Step 2- What it looks, sounds & feels like!

We wrote down our perceptions, assumptions on what the PYP Exhibition would look like, sound like and feel like.

Step 3 - What is the PYP Exhibition all about?

Step 4- Understanding the guidelines laid down by the IB for the PYP Exhibition

We did a jigsaw reading where each group understood the document by the Ib on the PYP Exhibition and then we put down our understanding together in the form of a presentation.

We gathered different articles we came across during the year to that had issues we wanted to address .

Step 6- Our chosen Areas of Inquiry

We were given the opportunity to select either a personal inquiry or a global issue. Here are issues that became our inquiry pathways.

Step 7- Mentors and Students Meet

Teachers who volunteered to be our mentors met with us and together we started the exhibition journey. It was fun working with our mentors as we got to know them better and we created group logos and names as well.

Step 8- Framing the Central Idea and Lines of Inquiry

We the students of Grade 5 had some inquiry questions that we wanted to gather knowledge about. These wonder questions helped dive deep into our research. We connected these questions to key concepts that further led us to framing our Lines of Inquiry and structure our Central Idea.
