I have always loved writing and researching about space and the universe hence I selected this topic. It took me sometime to think about how i would go about with my inquiry process as I was very nervous and confused about astrology as it is a vast topic. My teachers helped and guided me on this wonderful journey. Through videos, articles and conducting an interview I got to know about soo many things and from that moment on i told myself now no more nerves just confidence!
“ Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen and a push in the right direction” - John. C. Crosby.
As a PYP teacher, this was my first time mentoring a student for the much awaited exhibition of the year. Having taught this class last year, I was super excited to work with Zenil again. Along with my excitement came a galore of questions of how to go about the process, layered with a few challenges as the topic of Astrology was not my forte. However, astrology has been an important aspect for Zenil, he had a lot of first hand information and examples. I was eager to learn with Zenil and find out more about the connection with Astrology and our beliefs. Mentoring Zenil was a breeze as he was a highly motivated, creative and curious inquirer.
Our Journey...
One of the important components of the PYP exhibition is collaboration and working towards a common goal. We started our journey of inquiry by deciding a name for our team and making the logo which was vivid and connected to both of us. We began by watching videos, reading articles, talking to family members and a wonderful guest speaker who enlightened us on the quest we had embarked on. We gathered information mainly through visual thinking routines, along with notes to help us understand astrology and its connection with values and beliefs. At every phase we reflected on our learner profiles, whether we were aligned with our key concepts and possible actions we could take.
Hola!
When we had our first and second exhibition meeting, we brainstormed various ideas which we could use for our logo. Finally we came up with "Starfield" as astrology is strongly based on the starsand planets. If you see there is a Yin Yang signifying there is always good in bad and vice versa. The moon and sun signify the planets playing an important role in astrology. The two constellations are Cancer and Virgo as Virgo is Ms Crystal's Sign and Cancer is mine.

Making a poster to spread awareness, as one should not believe in astrologers blindly.
Some people take shortcuts to make money, become fake astrologers and predict the future of their customers and earned money in an improper manner. To avoid this we need to do our own research on what could be done, and also find out details about the astrologer.
