We arrived at the I.C Cena school around 9:15 am and were welcomed by a class of children singing an original song in Italian.
After the warm welcome we got a tour of the school.
The day ended with Laura Timpano holding a presentation for the Swedish and Turkish partners where she explained the CLIL methodology.
The day started with all the teachers being divided into groups. For the secondary classes the teachers were split into three groups, and for the primary classes we split into two groups. This was done because we were going to observe different CLIL lessons.
The day continued with the Italian partners presenting an example of a CLIL lesson plan. Afterwards we went through the videos done by all three countries and gave each other feedback on what to correct before we upload them to the mobile application.
Lastly, every team got to sit in an optional location and work on their lesson plans according to the CLIL method.
On the third day we visited the Museum at the Etruscan Necropolis of Banditaccia. All of Cerveteri is built on these ancient tombs, and the necropolis is a world heritage site. It contains the remains from Ancient Roman times.
After the tombs we went to the Council Hall that used to be a food house that stored food in the ancient times. The concert was with children from the partner school and the Mayor and other governmental representatives were also in attendance together with teachers from the school and parents.
This was the day of the cultural visit in Rome. Throughout the trip we used the app ActionBound to get in touch with the history and culture of Italy.
The day started with the visit of the Vatican; more specifically the St. Peter Basilica. Next we went to St. Angelo’s Castle. Afterwards it was the Pantheon. The second to last location in Rome was the Church of St. Louis of the French. The last stop on our cultural trip to Rome was the Piazza Navona.
