The objective of the ERASMUS project named WEST (We will succeed together) is to enhance the integration of immigrant students and their families into both social life and the education system, focusing on learning the culture and values of the host country without promoting assimilation. Additionally, the project aims to improve the proficiency of native language teachers in facilitating the integration process for immigrants. Funded through ERASMUS, WEST comprises three partners from Sweden, Turkey, and Italy. To accomplish its overarching goal, WEST has established specific objectives and aims to tackle the following aspects:
-Embrace and implement innovative educational guidelines for mother tongue instruction.
-Offer immigrant students bilingual education opportunities.
-Foster the learning of host country culture and values among immigrant students and their f-amilies, while respecting their cultural identity.
-Utilize web 2.0 tools to enhance the effectiveness and enjoyment of mother tongue education.
-Enhance teachers' proficiency in mother tongue instruction.
-Improve teachers' digital literacy skills.
-E-nhance teachers' expertise in Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) methodology.
I-ntegrate diverse educational approaches into mother tongue instruction.
