Sometimes I struggle to find activities for starters and plenaries so, in my "free time" I surf the net in search of ideas and inspiration. There is a whole world out there and I have decided to create a list of activities I can use in class.
This is still my favorite. I use it pretty much every lesson, especially for quick translation.
An alternative way to get students to repeat. They enjoy it, especially year 7.
This is very good for extensions for higher-ability students. In my classes, students have to hand in the phone at the beginning of the lesson but some of them can have it for the extension and get a star for doing it. Then, the phone goes back to its place.
This can be done based on a reading text.
Sometimes I do it with the LO. I tell students that I am not going to show the LO of the lessons but they will need to write them at the end of the lesson. Then I will uncover mine so that students can check.
This is also a nice starter .

This is a very good activity to prepare after, for example, a written production.
I mark the works using codes, as explained above, and I write the most common mistakes. Then i put the sentences in a grid and we play the game
