The following aspects will be covered in this two-hour online information session: definition and essential components of an IEP, IEP team, IEP process, roles of parents and students, and how to prepare for an IEP meeting.

Understanding the Emotional World of Children and Making it Through the Holiday Season
Presenter: Eva de Gosztonyi, psychologist
This presentation will help you to understand the key emotions that are affecting your children and how these have an impact on their behaviour and learning. How we see behaviour can change the way in which we react to it. And how we react, can in turn, help our children to move forward. We often confuse good behaviour with good development and that is not always the case. Understanding what is going on in the child or youth’s emotional world can make a difference both for them and for you as their parents. We will look at behaviour through an attachment-based developmental lens to make sense of behaviors that can be of concern. Then we will apply this understanding to help you to “make it” through the Holiday season, a time of increased emotion. In this presentation I will discuss ways in which to effectively navigate the extra excitement of this season.
