Course Description: This is a year-long creative-practice-based course that fosters students’ creative writing practice and shapes their identities as writers. Through cycles of inquiry, literary arts students develop a relevant and authentic understanding of the literary arts, finding creative ways to represent and communicate about the world around them. Students will progressively develop their personal artistic practice through explorations of a variety of written forms, including fiction and nonfiction prose, poetry, and various forms of drama. Students will hone skills in analysis, creative writing, critical thinking, project planning and completion, and communication.
