Students learn some life science, earth & space science, physical science, and engineering design each year during the elementary school years. Incorporating one of the resources below, or referring to NSTA Elementary Science Standards by Topic, Elementary can help keep learning on track. Check with your student's advisor about flexible options.
Grades K-5. Free online. Print editions in the EHK12 Library. Every grade level includes several units, each with a student book and teacher guide. Student books have many color images, while teacher guides include hands-on investigations, assessments, and activity sheets. CRC CKSci flyer.
Grades 1-5 student editions are available in the EHK12 Library. Exploring Science book include colorful images, hands-on science investigations & engineering challenges, and information on scientists and careers. Students are encouraged to create their own science notebooks. CRC Exploring Science flyer.
Workbooks are generally intended as supplemental resources, but they can also be used as an base for a custom-designed program. Add in additional reading and activities such as science projects, multimedia resources, nature journaling, games, and local activities. Making a science notebook is recommended.
Grades K-5. Print and/or online weekly periodical. See Studies Weekly interactive consumable features video and Studies Weekly interactive science notebooks. Includes vocabulary, lesson plans, writing activities, and graphic organizers. Comes with access to online videos and customizable auto-graded assessments.

Blossom and Root - Grades PreK - 4. PDF only. Blossom and Root is a gentle program with science and nature study resources available as separate packages, or bundled together with language arts and the arts. In addition, Blossom and Root also offers Book Seeds: Profiles in Science, special issues about a particular scientist or group of scientists. Book Seeds have a wide variety of activities for students ages 6-12.
Elemental Science: Classical Science - Grades 1-5 Grammar Stage series, Grades 5-8 Logic Stage series, and high school Rhetoric Stage series.
Elemental Science: Sassafras Science - Grades 1-5. Semester-long units anchored by a novel written at a fifth-grade level. Units include: Zoology, Anatomy, Botany, Earth Science, Geology, Astronomy. Novels are available in print and audiobooks. Teacher guides and student logbooks are available in print and PDF.
Elemental Science: Science Chunks - Grades K-6. PDF only. This is a flexible program well-suited for families with students in different grade levels because it is made up of individual units, or "chunks," which come with assignments for both younger and older students. The units are on specific science topics so families can pick an choose what to learn, but they are also available in bundles designed to cover a year of study. Users will find assignments for reading, writing, and hands-on activities, as well as lapbooking & notebooking resources. Reading material such as science encyclopedias must be obtained separately.
REAL Science Odyssey - Grades 1-6 Level One series. Print (with perforated pages) or ebooks. Black & white. Level One series consists of single volumes on one science topic: Life, Astronomy (18 weeks), Earth & Environment (25 week), Chemistry.
Time4Learning - Grades K-12. Online. Time4Learning offers an online learning program for K-8 students that includes science, language arts, math, and social studies.

John Muir Laws - Website from a naturalist, artist, and educator supporting "Nature Stewardship Through Science, Education, and Arts." Free lessons, videos, and a natural journaling curriculum. Also lists books and supplies for sale.

Magic School Bus series - Join Ms. Frizzle and her 3rd-5th grade science students on magical field trips. First published in 1986, the book series inspired television and video-game spinoffs.
Magic Tree House Books - Magic Tree House series (grades 1-4) or the longer Merlin Missions (grades 2-5) - Learn about science and history through the adventures of Jack and Annie, 7 & 8 year-old siblings. Magic Tree House Fact Trackers are non-fiction companion books for some of the stories.
