Students learn about life science, earth & space science, physical science, and engineering design during the middle school years, 6th grade - 8th grade. You may use a pre-planned program, or combine resources to create your own course of study.
This chart and NSTA Elementary Science Standards by Topic [Middle School] can help keep learning on track. Please check with your advisor if you need help or suggestions.
Here are three ideas to help you think about various options.
CK-12 Physical Science for Middle School and CK-12 Life Science for Middle School and CK-12 Earth Science for Middle School. Free digital textbook with reading, videos, simulations, and auto-graded exercises. Register for a free CK-12 account. See also CK-12 content help. No end-of-course assessment.
In 16 modules or as three texts: Life, Earth, Physical Science. The flexible modular format allows topics from the same area of science to be combined and studied during a single grade level, or used separately and spread across the middle school years. Limited library copies available; please ask about options.
Workbooks are generally intended as supplemental resources, but they can also be used as an base for a custom-designed program. Add in additional reading as well as activities such as multimedia resources, science projects, nature journaling, games, and local activities. Making a science notebook is recommended.
There are many other programs which may be used in student learning plans. Here are some examples:
