Northwest Gifted Child Association - A Washington State nonprofit founded in 1963. Find information on events and resources, including Book Recommendations Recommended by Northwest Gifted Child Board of Directors.
Supporting Gifted Learners - They have a Supporting Gifted Learners Book Recommendations page.
You do not need to use a program specifically designed for a gifted learner.
Some resources, including many that are aligned to newer educational standards, are based on conceptual understanding and challenging expectations, so sometimes simply adjusting the pacing of a general education resource may be all that is needed to meet the needs of your student:
Gifted students tend to pick up concepts more quickly, so less practice and review is needed and content can be covered and a faster pace
Gifted students often are ready to go more deeply into a topic before others, so sometimes slowing down and taking more time explore an idea or subject can work well
