Grades 6 - 10 (Pre-algebra , parts of algebra I, and other topics)
Live action videos show the instructor presenting with an interactive whiteboard. The pre-algebra videos generally run three to seven minutes long, and the algebra ones five to ten minutes. The lessons were designed to complement instruction in Art of Problem Solving textbooks.
Grades K - 12+
Khan Academy offers an extensive collection of interactive screencast tutorials as well as free practice exercises. Videos are typically between three and twelve minutes in length.
Grades 3 - 8
Math Antics video lessons are free, but a paid subscription is required to download worksheets and other companion resources. The live action videos are enhanced with motion graphics, and each is approximately 8- 12 minutes long. They are grouped into five categories: arithmetic, fractions, geometry, percents, and algebra basics. The instruction is designed to be supplemental and not a full math program.
Grades 6 - high school (Algebra 2)
Virtual Nerd is a middle and high school math video site from Pearson. It provides video instruction only; no practice problems. The 1500+ live action tutorials typically run three to five minutes in length, and show the instructor presenting with a dry-erase whiteboard. Lesson summaries and notes accompany the tutorials, accessed through a print icon above each video. The five main video categories include grades 6-8 math, prealgebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, and geometry. Additionally, lessons are grouped into three other arrangements: Common Core State Standards for grade 1 through high school, SAT math topics, and ACT math topics.
