Digital Transition Portfolio

The Edison Digital Transition Portfolio is designed to guide students with disabilities in their postsecondary decision making and career development process. Through the progression of the portfolio from one year to the next, students develop their ability to become self aware of their interests, strengths and challenges and eventually narrow down options for and plan actionable steps to achieve their educational and/or career/employment goals.

We have developed an internal Google Site that includes all of the resources needed for our students to create their own unique digital portfolio that will be saved in a Google Drive folder of their own. The site is organized by grade (9-12+); each grade containing activities to complete in the following domains:

  • Self-Awareness

  • Goal Setting and Planning

  • Self-Advocacy and Determination

Click on the video to the left to watch a demonstration of how students will access and use the resources to develop their digital transition portfolio.

Electronic evidence documents as a result of the chosen activities/assessments from each domain are included in the digital portfolio/folder each year.

By the time students are ready to exit high school, the completed portfolio becomes a meaningful, personalized, concrete product including an up to date resume and goal setting action plan that can be used for postsecondary planning.
